 IN AN OFF-SITE RETREAT

When we finally decide to book an offsite retreat, I know several of our people are going to resist the process. How can we insure that we get buy-in from our staff to insure the retreat goes well?

No doubt, many people will resist a retreat just as they resist any change. Our process engages the individuals a the re few weeks before the retreat. We start with a survey, then take that information and conduct interviews with all of the participants prior to establishing the agenda.

We then typically assign pre-retreat assignments that are engaging. This work requires reflection and deep thought, yet at the same time it is fun. Our experience shows us that when people go through this reflective process they are drawn in and look forward to sharing their thoughts with others.
