VIDEO TRANSCRIPT | BENEFITS OF NON-WORKING HOURS
It is true that during most offsite retreats, more time is devoted to “non-working hours” rather than the working sessions. This is by design.
A typical working session will last from 4 to a maximum of 6 hours, yet the time devoted per day for excursions, food and beverage can be twice as long. There are at least 2 good reasons for this.
First is that the working hours are often intense. This intensity is both intellectual as well as emotional. A great offsite retreat not only stimulates the head, it stimulates the heart!
With that in mind, your team will need downtime to recover so they do not get overwhelmed.
Second, and this should not be overlooked, is that the excursions and breaking of bread aids in the process to bond. Helping the group become a team.
