CONCEPT MATRIX

I THOUGHT I WAS A LEADER... | SCOTT DE LONG, PH.D.

The Concept Matrix is an important tool when reading any book. I often say, “writing clarifies thought.” What I mean by this is exactly that. By taking the time to recap a meeting, an idea, or a lesson from a class, it is more likely that the lessons learned and key takeaways will stick with you. The concept matrix provides a process for this. Chapter by chapter, it prompts you with three questions. At the end, there is an opportunity to write some final thoughts. Once this is done, you now have a document to go back to and reference to reflect upon your key takeaways from the book. Now, go ahead and download the document, and let’s get to work!
